Free Security Daily Activity Report (DAR) Template
A daily activity report, or DAR, is the running log of your shift: when you started, what you checked, who came and went, and anything unusual. The next officer and your supervisor rely on it.
Tips
- Log entries as they happen, with the exact time. Don't save it all for the end of the shift.
- Record patrols and checks even when nothing is wrong ("Loading dock checked, doors locked").
- Note visitors, deliveries, alarms, maintenance issues and anything out of place.
- If something needs a full incident report, log it briefly here and add the report number.
- Finish with clear handover notes for the next shift.
A general template. Your employer's or client's policy and your state's rules come first. Not legal advice. What you type stays in your browser; nothing is sent to us.
